" Gravity " This tune started off as " the Lotus Heart " Something Dee and Haz started after a delicious Vege lunch at one of Christchurch's famous eatery's. For a while it sat, slowly marinading with a few key layers and a basic Drum and bass rhythm bed. Nick, at the time was living in Austraila but he came back for a visit and we had a 5 day rinse out of a studio session (this is when we did the bulk of the work on " Moving on " "Look up " " Dreaming " " So Long " and " Gravity ". We had a recording session and he laid down a few takes over the bed, 1 of which he nailed beyond belief. That take is the main take of the track and literally just one take, a one hit wonder, un edited, through out the tune.
Haz continued working on the tune and trying various edits but it became very clear, this was Nicks tune, the tune where the trumpet is the lead, and everything else backs it up. So, with this new direction clear Nick did a few harmonies for his lead take and then Dee re wrote the bulk of the keys and pads to fit. We came up with the name " Gravity " somewhere in these later stages and the tune became the tune.
