" Matter " started life as a simple Dubstep roller, but, when Haz, Dee and Davie hung out for a weekend in a cabin on Stradbrook island at Island vibes festival the idea got developed quite a bit. With the Assistance of Bru, the viking Wahine, Ruffy and Jilly, Matter started to take shape.
Davie came up with some great lyrics expressing his connection to the Whenua he was missing back home, but also the appreciation for the new whenua to which he now stood. After a few months of attempted recording session we finally got his vox and harmonies sorted and they were dope ! Then, as was the case with many of the tracks, Haz rebuilt the tune around the new vocals, all the drums were re worked and edited and Dee recorded different keys. At the time we were having a DJ Krush appreciation stage and wanted to try to capture the oriental sound like he does but in a way we hadn't been done before so, Dee also recorded some xylophone sounds which are now the main musical parts of the tune.
